PHD have been retained as Building Surveyors and Project Managers by Palladian Academy Trust since 2019. One of the initial instructions by Palladian was to undertake detailed planned maintenance and condition surveys across the Trusts entire estate. This data has since informed part of a rolling cyclical programme of targeted improvement works. As our relationship has continued, PHD have supported the Trust in the annual delivery of SCA works, we have prepared funding applications for the Trust in relation to decarbonisation grants and to date have a 100% success rate with this work. We have also supported the Trust with their head office move, and managed to provide a range of furniture from another client who was undertaking a business move. 

PHD have undertaken condition surveys across all of the LSP school sites in North Somerset and surrounding areas. The surveys have been presented as 5 year PPM surveys, and have required a significant amount of data gathering to inform the Trust on estate. PHD have used bespoke software for the collection and presentation of the survey information, which allows the client team to break down costs elementally, and by year and priority. As part of our added value, we used drones during the survey programme to inspect areas at high level and ensure that all parts of the estate were accessible. 

As a key supply chain member, PHD were appointed to undertake over 100 school condition surveys across the South and West region for a national consultancy. These include 28 surveys in Cornwall, and over 30 surveys in Berkshire, as well as Wiltshire, Gloucester and Devon. We developed a bespoke reporting mechanism with the client team and were able to meet the reporting deadlines that were set by the client. The results of the surveys varied significantly by building type, and some of the more interesting observations from those surveys included WW2 bomb damage to schools in Devon, as well as some schools in Berkshire with tunnels running between classrooms!
