PHD have been appointed as building surveying and compliance support to International Decorative Surfaces who have units across the country. PHD are retained as project managers and building surveyors to manage works across the estate. PHD have also been appointed to manage the compliance of each site. This has recently involved the implementation of CATI software which will log and automatically flag individual compliance items before they become overdue. This will ensure 100% compliance across the entire portfolio.
Specialist Fabrication, Forming and Welding Group
PHD have delivered a programme of repair works for this client following an in depth consultation period with the landlord of the property. The repairs and upgrade works provide a new base for the company to continue to grow in the region. Through the complete refurbishment of the office space, the company are now able to utilise the previously unused mezzanine office space supporting the ambitious growth plans of the business. PHD provided lead designer, quantity surveying, Principal Designer, and contract administrator services on this project. PHD were able to carefully manage budget throughout the process as the brief developed from an initial tendered set of works to address the repair items only into a scheme which involved the complete refurbishment of the office spaces too.
Batt Cables
PHD were appointed by Batt Cables to act as Project Manager and Lead Designer for the refurbishment and fit-out of Unit IP10 at iPort, Doncaster. The project comprised a £2.5m refit of a 180,000 sq ft industrial building, transforming the existing unit into a high-quality operational facility to support Batt Cables’ ongoing business requirements. PHD led the coordination of the client brief, design team and project stakeholders, developing the design proposals, managing the tender process and supporting the project through statutory approvals, landlord consent and construction procurement.
As Project Manager, PHD oversaw programme, cost, risk, change control and contractor coordination throughout the delivery phase, providing a single point of contact between Batt Cables, the design team, contractor and wider project stakeholders. As Lead Designer, PHD coordinated the design development for the office accommodation, welfare facilities, warehouse fit-out, fire compartmentation, M&E installations and external alterations, ensuring the proposals responded to Batt Cables’ operational needs while achieving a practical, compliant and deliverable refurbishment solution.
